A note about our 2023 Limited Amber Spring Harvest:
 
The honeybees always amaze us! We were shocked to pull the spring frames out of the hive to find very dark and thick honey! We always expect light honey in the spring with a moisture content between 15%-17.5%. This honey is in the amber range and has a moisture content of 12%!
 
Across the street from our main apiary is a field belonging to The American Chestnut Foundaton. We noticed our bees all over these gorgeous blooms that have been teetering on extinction for nearly 100 years. 
 
We are so excited about this delicious blast from the past. Surprizingly, It doesn't have the flavor characteristics of dark honey. There is none of the malty-buckwheat taste, just a buttery caramel with rich cooked fig and pear notes. 
 
This honey is so thick that it was a challenge to extract from the comb. Unfortunately, the volume of honey is only 50% of the usual harvest per hive which means there is not as much to offer. There is truly a very limited supply. It's so rare that we've created a special label for it. 
 
1 Pound MUTH: Each is BEEutifully packaged in a 1pound Muth glass jar. This beautifully detailed embossed jar is a reproduction of the first jar produced specifically for honey in the USA. A traditional skep hive and flowers grace the front of the square bottle in addition to the weight of the filled jar and the word "HONEY." The cork closure adds another touch of tradition to this jar.
